Litter

The national litter campaign ‘Stop the Drop’

The Stop the Drop campaign aims to dissuade people from dropping litter and from fly-tipping. But also to ensure that all litter and fly-tips that appear are promptly cleared up.

Within the Branch, Stop the Drop is promoted by a group called LitterFree Durham CPRE which:

*  publicises the undesirable nature of litter
*  encourages and sets up voluntary litter picking initiatves
*  liaises with local authorities at all levels and with other public bodies as appropriate
*  works with schools and education authorities to educate pupils that litter is undesirable and dropping it anti-social.

LitterFree Durham can be contacted on litterfreedurham@hotmail.co.uk or by phone on 01325 312270.
