CPRE nationally are mounting campaigns in Branch area entitled 'Buy Local Foods' to promote the sale of locally produced foods and services and decrease the dependence upon foods from supermarkets.

The Durham Branch of CPRE wish to assist local producers and retailers of foods to market their products and services and to help publicise their activities.

Durham Branch wish to collect and collate details of local food producing and retailing concerns and include them on our CPRE Branch Food Database.

We also wish to set up an Awards Scheme for listed concerns whereby concerns with a large number of votes receive a CPRE Local Food Award.
